  1. have trawled this site for information on hitachi dvd recorders and havent found much info on it

Is this because this is a poor recorder that no one has or is it because they are fairly new to manufacture of recorders

what i reall want to know is the picture quality good on the longer record times ?

  2. I too am baffled and mystyfied as to the lack of reviews and feedback about Hitachi DVD records. Absolutely none!

I am looking at the Hitachi dv-ds81e, it seems really flexible in that does all the formats but I am a bit put off by the fact that no one seems to have bought one.

Can anyone throw any light on the situation?

  3. Are they a rebagged LG? LG burners are a Hitachi/LG joint thing.

  5. I have seen the Hitachi dv-ds81e in John Lewis (a large and reputable UK chain store), various shop web sites and on ebay (new units).
I asked at John Lewis and they said that they had not had one returned yet, which was a kind of recommendation I suppose.

  6. I have finally resolved this, the answer is that they are not very good, because these units lack RGB in which ruins the recorded picture quality.

  7. The new models have RGB-in.

    Haven't seen them anywhere though!
