one need to be carefull of software ratings..... I have found over the years that many times rating are slanted... although consumer report does a fair job.. another good place to get good honest ratings is smartcomputer magazine there testing and evaluation of softwware is also pretty good.... the worst place to go is pc magazine or pc world!!! there notorius for slanting there rating and poor testing procedures..... a good example is that recently pc world published there rating on security software suites!!! ..... well it turns out the evaluation meathod are real poor andthere not reliable... for detail on this go to http://windowssecrets.com/ they went into that pretty good and it show how rating can be slanted...!!
another example of pc magazine.... several month ago the publish a rating report on antispyware programs.. now it was suspcious when the stated the M$ antispyware detected 100% ..lol... well it turnout they on tested against 58 se;ected threats . that nothing..... bad report.. they rated M$ musch higher than cleansweep and spybot , spydoctor... talking about slanting to favor one software... smiling
