    Hello mates
    I am just a newbie to dvd authoring stuff , my 1st software to try is avi2dvd when I choose my movie file it does not retrieve its info or the audio stream any help???

    Not really enough information. You could try ConvertXToDVD, it's very easy to use. Or you can use the older freeware version XvidToDVD. Or there is a newer freeware program you might try, FAVC.

    You can get info about a video file and it's audio format with Gspot 2.52.

    I got it
    My problems was the path to the movie file contains characters like - and . so this was not acceptable for avi2dvd
