I captured video from a widescreen laserdisc, then converted the DV to anamorphic MPEG2 using TMPGenc. It came out perfectly. Then I authored the DVD in Ulead Workshop 2.
The problem is that the chapter stops I created in WS2 are not the same when played back in a DVD player (I've tried three different models. Each one starts at a point further on than I selected. The problem becomes progressively worse, with the last chapter stop being more than three minutes further. When I test all the links in WS2 on the "finished" screen, they work perfectly, then I burn the disc and try it on a DVD player and they don't match up. There is no audio synch problems at all. I just tested it on the PC using Power DVD - same problem.
So I have a well-authored DVD with awesome menus and a great picture and great audio, but if one should access the scene selection menu and click on a chapter, the starting point will be different then the one I selected.
Hopefully I explained that clearly and hopefully someone has a suggestion...
CHEERS!
