The 'How To' for encoding a movie for i-Pod says you can create a sing VOB file from a Video-TS file.

Can anyone advise how I might go about this?

I used Mac the Ripper to extract the Video-TS file.

    Regards

MacTheRipper can do that for you while ripping. Go to the Mode tab, change Full Disc Extraction to Title-Chapter Extraction. The second dropdown shows the titles, select the one you want; the largest will have the "MF" (Main feature) comment.

After MTR is done, you may want to rename the output VOB file to something without spaces and parentheses, depending on the encoding engine you will use.

There is also a tool called Extractor that can generate a single VOB. This is very useful for creating a single VOB from disk-based VIDEO_TS It can also demux into varying different files (TS, MPEG2, AC3, SRT etc).

  4. You can use ffmpegX to combine VOB files. It allows you to combine one VOB with another at a time. D-Vision by ObjectifMac is better for this purpose because it allows you to combine mulitiple VOB files into one at a time.
