To me Captain James T.Kirk was a leader, who was respected by his crew..they would follow him anywhere..and for his close friends Dr.McCoy,Spock..I think each of them would lay down their life for the other..Now tell me..in this world we live in now where it is everyone for theirself..Isn't that just something..I know it is only fictional but to have friends who would never leave your side and that you could count on forever..wouldn't that be something else!!!

You talk as if this doesn't happen. It's not uncommon for people who serve together in the military to develop lifelong friendships, often literally risking their lives for each other.

Yes I think it does..you just dont hear of it much anymore..what was it that Dr.McCoy said that Kirk did..turned defeat into victory/or no chance into a fighting chance?..Just imagine if you had a friend or a leader such as Captain Kirk..

I must say that in my everyday life, the only people that I could think of as my "Kirk, Spock & Mc Coy" are all members of my family. I've never had a friend that was down for me like that.
