I come to the Mac and ffmpegX with a Windows XP and TMPGEnc background.
There is a lot to love about ffmpegX, like how cleanly it offers all the options, and the incredible speed at which it encodes.
There are two things in particular that I really miss about TMPGEnc however, and I'd like to suggest similar features for ffmpegX.
1) a Video GUI. The ability to see the video loaded, not just for looks, but in association with that being able to graphically mark points for inclusing and exclusion for encoding. Not so different in that regard than say iMovie.
2) The ability to load multiple files to be encoded into out resulting outputted file. Currently it's 1 file in, 1 file out. Multiple in and 1 out out be great.
