    hi

    how can I convert a legal DVD-NTSC disk to PAL ?

    must I rip the DVD ... and then what ? convert it to XviD compressed format ? what ?

    There are dozens of guides on this. I suggest you start by going to the DGPulldown page in the Tools section, and looking at the guides list.

    A very brief description of the process is to rip the disc, reencode the video as PAL resolution and NTSC framerates (i.e. don't change the framerate), then use DGPulldown to add pulldown flags to tell the playback device to playback at PAL framerates. This means you don't have to alter the playback speed of the audio. You will have to demux and reauthor as well along the way.

    The simpler solution is to get a multi-format player. Most PAL players will also playback NTSC, and a growing number of NTSC players will also playback PAL. The time it takes to do this makes it cheaper to get a new player in the long run.
