Hola. When I convert a 400MB DIVX movie to
MPEG so I can make a VCD, should the output
file be so big? It's coming out over a GIG!
(I'm using TMPGEnc to convert it.)

Typically, TMPGEnc produces 10MB of file size for every minute of the video. If your movie (VCD format) is 60 minutes long, the MPEG file produced by TMPGEnc will be ~600MB. Hope this helps.
