  1. OK, I have a DVD I'm backing up, the original DVD I burned to was of poor quality.

I successfully copied all 4 VOB files to my hard drive. Problem is I cannot reburn them to a new DVD.

One of the 4 VOB files seems to have issues.

I can play the VOB file with Nero ShowTime but it won't load to programs like TMPGEnc DVD Author. I also cannot load the DVD folder to DVD Shrink which I normally use for burning new DVDSs.

I tried to convert the VOB file to MPEG2 with TMPGEnc.exe but it ended up making a file that was mostly black screen and no audio.

I nave Nero but have never used it directly for a burn, I always use DVDShrink.

This is NOT a commerical DVD so there are no problems with macrovision protection or anything like that.

I can watch the problem VOB without issue using Nero ShowTime but can't seem to burn it. Any ideas? I wish Nero ShowTime had a "save file" feature.

Try vob2mpg. Maybe it will have better luck converting to mpg then tda.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  3. Use FixVTS.
If you want a 1:1 copy use DVDDecrypter ISO Read->ISO Write. If DVDDecrypter chokes on a VOB then try DVDFab Decrypter and Nero to burn.
