  1. I just got home and I saw a horrible stain in the bottom right corner of my 52" Projection TV. It's like liquid, i don't have a clue what it could be...

Does anybody know what it is????

    Too much porn?

Could it be something on the protective plexiglass? Maybe some condensation on the inside?

Looks almost like when you have a speaker too close to a normal TV, it will distort the picture? Is there anything near it that might cause the problem?

  4. Any way to fix it myself?

I tried with the hairdryer, it made the liquid go back a little bit, but it's black, like black ink.

  6. Ok, I removed the front screen of the TV and I found two layers of a plastic screen, and the liquid was in the middle of it, I just cleaned it with water and soap and a little help of my wife's hair dryer.... voila!, stain gone!.

But I still wonder where did it came from the first place...... ???

Glad you got it sorted out. Could it have been water from condensation maybe?

  8. I have no idea, but I dismanteled it completely and there is no way on earth that the liquid could have come from the tv!.

That's the biggest thing.... it happened before my own eyes, I was watching tv and this thing started emerging from the bottom of the screen!, I noticed it inmediately and ran towards the tv in awe... I took the hair dryer and started heating the screen and it went back a little, but it left the stain anyways. That's why the picture has two tones, the light one is the stain it left and the bottom one is the actual liquid being there.

Is it a LCD Television? You may have a leak. Take it in for warranty repair if it is a plasma leak.

Or it's like the blob, only heat stops it instead of cold. Run for your lives.

sry. I meant liquid crystal as I was talking about an LCD.

But it being rear projection makes it quite the mystery... ...

nothing to leak out of a lcd ...

BUT -- some rear projection screens are two layers .... one layer is the Fresnel and the other layer is on top of that

My case!, the liquid was between the two layers. I had to separate both layers and clean it with water and soap. Then I dried it with the hair dryer. It looks like new, like nothing happened. But I will never find the origins of that thing...

  21. If I was you I'd need to find out what exactly happened. Have you called the manufacturer?

BTW I was at an auction where a LCD widescreen was going cheap with a similar stain in the right hand corner. I wonder?
