  1. The latest build mentions enabling the audio gain control for PSP videos, but every file I've tried (encoding from VOB files) since the newest release causes the audio to lose sync with the video.

I'm using the latest PSP firmware, by the way. I'm not sure if I'm doing something differently now, or if there's a flaw in the new release (I'd only made a few PSP videos before, so it could be a B.U.D error - bad user on device).

    Second question:
I get fairly impressive video quality at the 235kbps rate, which is as high as I can go without turning the number blue-- but I'd like a little more. Are you certain that bit rates in the 300-400kbps range are excessive?

I did an encoding at 350kbps and compared, seeing little difference, I admit. But that doesn't seem right. Can't H.264 make almost pristine files if we're willing to let the bitrate climb a bit?

    Thanks for the amazing software.

  2. Do you mean the sync problem appears when setting audio gain?

If you want to test quality vs bitrate / quantizers, encode several times the same clip by changing the option you like and use the PSNR options which will print the signal/noise ratio at the end of the encoding (values in dB, higher values = higher quality).
