So says Digit:

If true, well, that was FAST!
"Licensing of version 1.0 of the format has just begun and the format has attracted support from several rival camcorder makers including: Canon, Pioneer, Samsung and Sharp."
If this is true, it means SHARP is getting back into the camcorder game.
And Pioneer?
I didn't know they were interested in the camcorder business.
This is news -- if true.

I suspect the Digit writer just lumped Pioneer into the list of camcorder manufacturers, but actually meant that Pioneer plans to make drives and stand alone player/recorders that support AVCHD.
