    OK here goes.

There must be an easier way so please help..........

I have created some digital footage using ADOBE PREMIERE PRO CS3 which I exported to MPG format using the HDTV 720p preset in Premiere. There isn't an AVCHD preset option in CS3.
When I then come to use Sonys Motion Picture browser it recognises the move but fails to convert the movie stating the format is not compatible. So I then convert it to mts using TMPGEnc but then Motion Picture Browser says it won't export the mts file because again the format is incompatible.

Does anybody know what format (please be specific cos there are many variants of the same format) I need to get my footage to be in order to successfully transfer this onto the camcorder HDD, which incidentally will then be downloaded onto the PS3 for Blu-Ray/AVCHD playback.

    Thanks in advance

  2. take a look at a video file from the cam with mediainfo. print out the specs so you can use them to encode to if you need it.

as for the sony m p browser, find out what it accepts as input video, then export that type of video from pp cs3.

cs4 has avchd built-in and sony vegas pro 8 has the sony avc encoder with avchd presets for 1920 and 1440 so that would probably be the best bet if you are in the market for a newer editor/encoder.

  3. you might also try importing your 720p into handbrake. it has a preset for exporting ps3 video.
