Hi
I have a Canon MV450i which for the past 4 odd years has worked faultlessly. Now I am unable to rewind any tapes without them getting stuck and when I try to eject I have to unwind teh tape from the spools
1) Any idea on how to fix or is it back to a Canon rep for fixing?
2) One of the tapes split - is there any way to splice the tape back tpgether
Any help woudl be much appreciated
Thanks
Kwack

Look for a tape splicing kit or splicing tape for the cassette and then transfer the contents to another tape or media.
As for the machine, I am guessing a cleaning? Set a value on the repairs before you throw away your money. Is it worth 25% of the cost of a new one to fix it, 30%, 50%? The other thing that kind of worries me is that once a machine gets the "Taste" for eating tapes can you ever really trust it again? I mean once a "Tape Eater" always a "Tape Eater"
Moral of the story? Don't feed your machine any more tapes, get a new one. (But, Hey, When have I ever followed my own advise?) It's your time, money and memories.
Good luck.IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?
