Hi, since a year i used my DVD Standalone Pioneer DVD-R 220 to record Live show from TV or copy from my VHS to DVD Standalone and then build a DVD with my PC but since a week each time i record anything ( both Tfrom V show or from VHS to DVD Standalone ) my PC don't detect any DVD on the PC, he keep ask tell me "insert a DVD on..." same respond when i use Ulead DVD creator.... i changed the media ( Fuji and TDK ) still the same
One thing i forget to tell of course i always use DVD-RW to record on my DVD Standalone and then work on it on my PC but it always worked in the past, also it's not a problem of finalize the DVD-RW or no cause even if i finalyze the DVD-RW it still don't work
Thank's for any help

Hi,
Could it be a problem with your PC's DVD drive ?
Will you PC drive recognise any DVDs ?
Have you tried inserting a commercial disc to see if it recognises it ?
Moonstomp.Just because you're nobody, doesn't mean that you're no good. Just because there's a reason, doesn't mean it's understood. It doesn't make it all right ! (The Specials) -

You have two drive's ... both capable of creating the problem ...
For what it is worth , buy a cd lense cleaner , and give it a couple of gose in both unit's ... and test from there .
Dose the disc play correctly in the topset unit ?
Your pc drive may have decided to simply become fussy as to what it will read ... or the topset unit is not doing the job correctly ... if you have a dvd-rw made a while back that worked before , use it to test the both drive's ... if it dont work ... you may have pinpointed the real problem .
Not all media is good ... and even poor quality batch's do appear in the better brand's ... if you find a batch with problem , return for replacement ... media is easily damaged ... even from dropping of the shelf , poor handling and storage method's ... too higher temp .
And drop tdk ... it's rubbish now , they dont make their media , it's outsourced ... better is verbatim .
After all this , turn pc off at power point , take the side cover off pc (left side) , and take a look at the cable connected to the dvd drive ... check cable is firmly connected to both the drive and motherboard ... it is rare , but I have seen cable's come loose for no reason ...
Replace this cable as well ... cable's can die slowly for no reason other than they were of poor quality ... I have seen this many time's .
While your in there ... get rid of the dust .
If change of media dose not fix issue , the drive itself is considered ready for replacement . -
Did you change from recording in Video mode to VR mode on the Pioneer 220 (either purposely or accidently)? If so, your PC may not have software installed to read VR mode (UDF) discs.
