Problems with new SVCD2DVD Version

I used the new version of SVCD2DVD Build 2.1.2308, software last week and none of the finished output DVD's have worked. I have not had trouble with old versions but i have made 3 DVD's with the new version and none have worked. Everytime i load the disc into the DVD player it comes up with this "Disc Error" message on the screen. There can't be a problem with the actual disc cos the burn process always completes successfully, so there is obviously something happening in the authoring process. I have changed a few settings for each of the authoring processes but keep having the same problem.
First i convert all my videos to SVCD (both Pal and NTSC), then i load them into SVCD2DVD and create a menu, Author then burn the output Video TS file with Nero.....but the end result is not happening.
I usually like to have about 35 to 40 SVCD music videos on each DVD disc. I'm able to fit them all into the menu, but do you think i am putting too many videos on the disc?

As far as I remember, you should be able to put up to 99 tracks (separate titles) on a DVD.

I disagree. There could be many causes:

Have you changed the brand or type of blank media?
Have you changed burning speed?
Do the disks play in your PC?
Have you tried the disks in another player?
Do your previously made disks still play in your player?
What burning software do you use?

Why are you converting to SVCD before authoring? If conversion is neccessary you should always convert to a proper DVD compatible format for best result (playability over a wider range of players).

Why do i convert to SVCD before burning, i don't really know another way...when i first used the program thats what i did. What other way should i load up the videos in there? I have tried putting Vob's that i have ripped from DVD's and mpegs that i have recorded from VCR's...but that would just encode the VOB's and Mpegs from scratch instead of me doing it before hand. Anyway, i don't think you can import a VOB file into SVCD2DVD.
If i don't encode the Videos to Svcd before i author anything, then what is the best method?

Only a suggestion: If you are starting with .mpg and encoding anyway, why not encode to a fully DVD compliant file, then import to S2D for the authoring? You will then have better compatibility across a wider range of players. If you are recording from VCR and have the proper setup, I would suggest capturing as AVI and import that directly to S2D and allow it to be encoded and authored.

As to using VOB's, if the files are small enough to use without encoding, try VOB2MPG to produce a S2D compatible .mpg.
