I compressed an AVI with DivX (6.2.5) using VirtualDub (1.6.14). Same sort of operation I've done many times before. But I cannot understand why it runs OK in only some of my players.
WMP9: Jerky
Media Player Classic: OK, then stops for 10 s, then OK.
IrfanView: Inconsistent. Reports it must close - but then plays OK!
PowerDVD: OK
Nero ShowTime: OK
VLC Media Player: OK
Is this sort of inconsistency common? What might have caused it, and is there anything I could try that might fix it please?
