After buying a new new computer,my first attempt to convert vhs tapes to DVD was a failure.I have two software programs that cam with my video capture devise DVDXpressDX2.they are Capwiz and Ulead videostudio 9 SE. the first tape I tried,I was able to capture it to my computer with Capwiz. I transferred it to Ulead to try some editing and adding Titles.my problem is the Ulead owners guide does't explain this very well.Does anyone out there have a more detailed explanation on how to operate Ulead. Especially how to delate blak spaces and add titles.

In Ulead VS9, click on the Edit tab. In the upper right corner, you can click the folder icon to add video files into your library. From there, you can drag your video files down into the timeline in the order that you wish. Another option is to right click in the timeline, and select Add Video.

Once you have your video clips added, you can trim the beginning or end by using the Mark In and Mark Out buttons above the timecode. Position the slider (drag it , type in an exact time, use play and pause/stop, etc.) where you want the clip to start and click Mark In. That marks the beginning of the clip. Do the same to locate the end and click Mark Out.

If you want to cut the video clip in multiple places (cut out the black spaces), than you need to use the Multi-trim feature found at the left. This will send you into a similar looking page. Do the same thing as above. Mark the start, mark the end, mark the start, mark the end. The areas in between the end of one and start of the next are cut out. Don't worry about getting too exact on this since you can crop the beginning or end of these after you add them back into the timeline.

To add titles to your project, select the Title tab. It's kind of self explanatory. All of your options are on the left side of the screen.

    Good luck!
