Hi folks. I'll just say what I want to do :

    1) I have some DVD-R and some DivX (AVI) movies. what I wanna do is I want to cut about 30 seconds to 1 minute from each of these films (there's about 30 films) in the first place. so in the first place I need a good and easily working program to cut from my DVDs/AVIs and have about 30 separate movies (with 30 sec to 1 min length) on my desktop. it would be great if the program cuts the movies in AVI format.

    2) now I need to add a hardsubtitle to each of these 30 short scenes that I cut in the first step. so I need a nice and easily working program to add the subtitles. by the way I don't have any problem with the soft subtitles, if only soft subs are easily to make than the hard subs.

    3) now we're at the 3rd step. in the last 2 steps I cut 30 scenes from 30 movies and added 30 subtitles to the 30 movies. now I need an information page. I don't know how to explain. you see, after the first two steps, for example I've got 1.avi , 2.avi , 3.avi ,,,,, 29.avi,30.avi, right? now I want to have a 10 seconds of black screen before every of these files. I mean for example when I open 1.avi the scene will play, but what I want is when I open 1.avi, before the actual scene, I could have some information and details about that scene. you know like when you put a dvd into a dvd player, first the FBI Warning comes, right? now I want something like that. but instead of FBI Warning, I want to describe the scene in some sentences and then the actual clip start to shown. I'm really really sorry for my poor English.

    4) till now we should have 30 separate avi files, and each of them should have Subtitle and a describe page (like FBI Warning for example). now the last thing that I want to do is merge all these 30 files. I want to merge them into one big AVI file so when I burn it as a DVD it will play without any problem. I mean I don't like them to be separate. want them to be merged.

    Really really thanks

I suggest you shoud use a video editing software where you can mix your subtitles, intro and outro credits and burn it directly to a DVD. Try SONY VEGAS PRO. im using for almost three years in my business such as remixing musics and video slideshow production. Take a look at my sample slideshow at http://cmanulat.blogspot.com

Thanks Benjie. I've got the Vegas but it's a little too professional for me. I'm looking for simple-working program.

How can I add something like FBI Warning before the movie? I mean something with the style and font of that Warning but instead of those sentences, I want to put my words in it.

    thanks

Everything you want to do can be easily done using Avisynth, but only if you're prepared to put in the initial effort to learn how to use it. If you're looking for something "simpler than Vegas", forget it.

I've solved the cutting and subtitling part. the only problem is the 3rd part. you know those "FBI Warnings" or for example when you're watching a movie in television, before the movie begins, you see a page on television with a warning on it, like " The Following Program Contains Nudity " and things like that. so I want to make something like those, but instead of those warnings, I want to put my words, describe the following scene/clip. now how can I do that?

    thanks

Sony vegas is more use friendly than other professional video editing softwares such as adobe premier and after effects.
What you only need is a video demonstration so you can understand the technical terms and actions during editing.
I can show you a demo in a short video clipson how to add some info like and FBI warning subtitles alike.

Other option is you can type "how to add subtitles using sony vegas" in youtube. There'sa lot of video tutorials out there.

    best regards,
    benjie
