I recently installed Videostudio 9, captured 16:9 footage from my camera, set Project Settings to 16:9, and all seems to be good. Except the titling at the start which slides diagonally across the screen goes above and below the 16:9 ratio. It is as if the titling doesn't recognise the project is in widescreen mode.
At least, that is what it does in Videostudio, Media Player, and on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeY4uB7eVSw. It doesn't bother me too much in those settings, but what will happen when I show it on a widescreen TV? Will the images be full width and the titling simply be cut off a little top & bottom - which won't matter in view of it's placement? I ask this because I don't own a widescreen to test it for myself.
Thanks,
Mark.

Did you pull up the YouTube link? Yes, I'm generating the Titles in VS9. If you draw an imaginery horizontal line where the top and bottom of the video footage is, then go back to the start of the video, you'll notice that the titles extend above and below those imaginery lines - basically into the areas that would be taken up by a 4:3 ratio.

I'm going to upload a test video in a few minutes to illustrate this clearly.

OK, I don't know what's happened. On this test video the titling has been restrained to the 16:9 ratio. Obviously I've done something different . . . My apologies.

I found it was possible to type outside the safe areas. Test it on short clips.
