  1. hi there.
not sure if or where this should be, if it doesnt belong here can a mod place it in the correct place.

just curious as to whether anyone knows if the following video editing/processing software will run ok on xp pro 64bit OS, and if so does anyone know if there are any known issues with them and should they be better used on the xp pro 32bit OS.

    TMPGEnc 3,0 xpress
    TMPGEnc dvd author
    MainConcept
    ProCoder
    sony vegas and dvd architect
    WinDv 1.2.3
    dvdlab pro

    any help appreciated.

all run on x64 -- yes , some minor issues reported , some plug in will not work ... no real performance increase overall (in some cases yes - in some cases no) .... dont think dvda burning will always work (though just dont use it for burning is a easy fix)

dont know on the other apps ...

You can check here for XP64 compatibility, both software and hardware. It's usually kept updated: http://www.ukgamer.com/article.php4?action=win64

For other programs, go to the programs site and check.

thx guys, appreciated, all the listed software does work with 64bit.

but now going to stick with the xp pro 32 bit OS its just not worth the hassle of 64bit when there is not a lot of support.

wee buy 64bit cpu and still run 32bit cpu, crazy.

I have three 64bit CPU computers, but only run XP64 on one of them. But most programs will run with no problems in XP64, there's just not a lot that take the most advantage of the 64bit CPUs. It's a similar situation with dual processor CPUs. But the support is improving all the time for both.

While not a capture/editor, I came across this utility which not so long ago had been upgraded to take advantage of 64-bit OS.

    From their website:
"Cucusoft Mpeg/Mov/RMVB/DivX/AVI to DVD/VCD/SVCD Converter Pro" is easy to use and powerful for experts as well. It enables you to convert and burn any video file directly to VCD, DVD, SVCD, MPEG1 and MPEG2 format. Pro version included all the features of the lite version. In addition, it has embedded "DVD Author Express" and "DVD/VCD/SVCD Burner Engine". So it becomes an all-in-one VCD/SVCD/DVD Creator. And this program has been optimized for 64-bit CPU including Intel EM64T and AMD64. The video conversion speed is faster than most of our competitors. Now you can get this All-in-One video converter at a very competitive price!
Whatever doesn't kill me, merely ticks me off. (Never again a Sony consumer.)
