  1. Hi,

I like special transitions in intro-titles of Band of Brothers in Steven Spielberg production. I mean transitions, like moving snapshots from one to another...like transitioned slideshow of pictures, which sometimes moves...

How can I do it for example with Vegas Video ?

Im not sure if this is what you mean (i dotn recall band of brothers intro) but in Vegas:

1- add your pictures to your video track.

2 - Then go to the transitions tab and find the transition you want to use and drag it to in between each picture.

3 - zoom in on the transition and stretch it or edit it so that it happens and the speed you want.

4 - click on the even pan and crop icon on each picture.

5 - using keframes move the image to pan around the picture creating motion....si looks like you are panning across and zooming in.out of the photo.

6 - Do it to all your pictures and you should be in business.

Hope that was what you were after!
(ps Ulead video studio 9 had a lot of presets to make this easier, you could give that a try for it to be a bit faster)

  4. Rudyard: yeah, it seems to be quite similar, but in Band of Brothers intro, there were not still pictures but pictures going into movie... if you have the possibility, look into it, it is interesting effect...

post a 20-30 sec clip of the effect so we know what you're talking about. It can't be too dificult to replicate.

Are you talking about the black & white still pictures (with some sort of greyscale and / or noising effect) slideshow with music?

If so, the way I'd do this be:
    1. Use WinDVD (or some similar player software) to step through your video and capture and save off 10 or so frames.
    2. Open in photo editor program, covert to b/w, and noise as desired.
    3. Create a slideshow with music. Personally, I'd use Avisynth.
    4. Encode & include.

There are many ways to do that with Vegas. It all depends on your creativity. You can use transitions, PIPs (this case 2 timelines one over the other one, to produce the effect), etc, etc,
