Recently I bought a Yamaha home theatre receiver system YHT270. It has DTS , Dolby digital decoders. I need to buy a suitable dvd player for this system which has a optical output. Please help me in choosing a dvd player which suites this home theatre system. I have one more question, while chosing the DVD player for this system, does the dvd player has to have the dts and dolby decoders or its not necessary ?. Please help me.

    Thanks in advance,
    Thiyagu

Since it appears your receiver has the decoders, then your dvd player does not need them.

Just take a trip to the local Best Buy or Circuit City and have a look around. Decide what options you need/want then do a little research. You can also browse around in the DVD Players section to the left<<<

If you want to spend some money on a great player, I highly recommend the Oppo OPDV971H. Excellent video quality and also supports raw avi/mpg playback. http://oppodigital.com/
