Depending on what im rendering Vegas 5.0 can take a LONG time, even on my new 3ghz 2gb ram dual core PC.
I encoded my ultrasound video and it took 7.5 hours for a 1/2 hour video! (2 pass VBR encode)
It doesnt particularly bother me as different type of video takes different lenghts.
I was just wondering if there is a setting so that Vegas can render and then shutdown the PC? This would be very handy for me and I would feel much better knowing im not leaving the PC on for useless hours whilst I sleep or am at work.
Is this possible?

The first thing I would do is upgrade to Vegas 6.0d. There are some EXTREME speed improvements between the two versions. Actually, I understand Vegas 7 is scheduled for September. I would wait if possible.
Matters of great concern should be taken lightly.
Matters of small concern should be taken seriously.
