Heya,

Been seeing this issue for quite a while now...

My specs:
Vista ult. 64
6GB Ram
Radeon 4870 X2 card
Intel I7 920 processor.

I've tried using Vegas 8, Vegas 8.1 (x64) and Vegas 9.

On Vegas 8 it just crashes, end of story.
On Vegas 8.1 with 1 trhead it renders... but the render time of the movie is SLOWE THAN ON MY OLD LAPTOP!!!! Which is a dual core 2.0ghz 2 GB ram laptop. Rendering from an external hdd. I mean... that surely indicates something is wrong lol.

In Vegas 9 when I render the project it says that it is out of memory. Funny since the exact same project renders on a 1gb old laptop without any issues. (except mine that it is amazingly slow compared to what the i7 should be able to... I invested with my student card in it, now.. WORK.. :P )

The video files are from my Canon EOS 5DMKII... mov FULL HD, 30 fps and with the lovely H264 video codec.

I render to Main Concepts AVC mp4 in 720p.

When it crashes it does so when the first EOS 5D footage clip loads. However I was able to render in the same format/settings before with smaller movies or with just different footage. Still when rendering this footage alone it actually works. Just not when dragging too much into the scene.

Still as mentioned. It DOES work on the laptop so logics just say something else is going on than the footage or memory.

Both the desktop pc and the laptop run on the same Vista 64 installation.

Any help is mooooooooooore than welcome! It's for my final studies project and actually after working on graduating for 1 year this is the FINAL RENDER. *omg excited*

Thanks in advance!
