Got one of these last christmas. And It was ok for what I payed for it. BUT I didnt finalize all my discs. Now it wont read discs at all. I am gonna buy a new one, but i was wondering if there was any other kind of recorder or something i could do to get the videos that I recorded off the dvd or finalize the disc?

When you say [wont read discs at all] Do you meen any disc including commercial or the ones not finized.
I cut a -R disk for a friend. He has a Toshiba unit and it would not play I forgot to finalize it. He finalized on the toshiba and it worked as if it was done on my ilo. I may not do so on other units

I have found the Toshiba, while good, a picky unit

I Did have a ilo 05mu and did finalize a disk made on it in my ilo RHD04 with no problem

There are lite-on recorders at Costco, Compusa and many Best-Buy stores. Also at some OfficeMax.

I really dont wanna buy another one, i would rather buy a good new one. I was just wondering if it could be closed by other recorders? If so which ones

I also have an Ilo unit. I record a VHS to DVD and when I'm finished (usually the 2nd of 2 on one DVD) it gives he a dick error message. At this point, it won't recocnize the disk anymore. Am I doing something wrong? I only wanted to put my VHS movies on DVD so they would not eventually fall apart, but most of the movies won't let me copy anyway. It's not like I wanted to copy and sell them; it's just that some of these aren't out there to buy anymore. HELP!
