Your own movie as in homemade or as in a commercial disc that you own ?
What is the structure of the disc (main menu, main feature, 3 extras titles etc etc) ?
What do you wish to strip out (leave just main menu and main feature etc etc) ?
I take it your target is a single layer (4.7GB) DVDR ?If in doubt, Google it. -
remember multiple angles must be all compressed with closed GOPS with fixed lenth

hell, all i want is the menu and main movie but would it be possible to keep all angles.

About the only app that will easily keep the angles while shrinking it to fit a DVD5 is the Pro version of DVD Rebuilder, which costs a little money. Any other method just isn't worth it. If you don't have DVD-RB, then it would be better to strip out all but one angle before shrinking to fit.
It's easy to strip out everything BUT the movie with angles and the menu using VobBlanker, but unless that alone brings the size down enough, it won't do you any good. -
Yes it does. I've done several with no problem and that's one of the features it advertises.
Full support for video interleaving (ILVU) - re-encodes angle and seamless branching.
If it doesn't perform as advertised you should bring it up in the DVD Rebuilder forum at Doom9 where the developer hangs out. This assumes that it's really a DVD with angles. You mentioned backing up your own movie with multiple angles, but didn't answer jimmalenko's question about what that really meant. If you open the DVD in VobBlanker, does it say there's ILV and mark it as "Skip"? -
So what happened when you tried to back it up using (the latest version of) DVD-RB Pro? It didn't play right when done?
You should definitely report it to jdobbs at Doom9. He's in R1, so he won't be able to go out and get the DVD to test (R2?), as he often does, but there may be others that have done the same DVD and can confirm (or contradict) what you're saying. Really, he wants and needs to hear of any problems with his software. -
Hi-
Hehe, yeah, you have to wait 5 days. That's supposed to give you time to read up and maybe sort out your problem without asking something that may have been asked before. You might do a search in the DVD-RB forum using the error message as input. That error message sounds very peculiar to me, though, and I don't think I've heard of it before.
By the way, he doesn't really like to give advice if preprocessing has been done. That is, if some other program has been used on the vobs before being sent to DVD-RB, then he doesn't feel responsible, and I don't blame him. I might also suggest if you've removed anything, or preprocessed it in any way, that you try again, this time using the untouched vobs. DVDs with angles can be very finicky, and it's easy to unknowingly mess them up.
DVDs with angles are very difficult to reencode. I've heard that the Big Three method can also do it, but not without a heck of a lot of work that DVD-RB does automatically. I think that, unless you're prepared to strip out angles, your best bet is to try and work out the problems with DVD-RB. -
