Now that i've replaced my 105 with a new 111D, my old Nero Express will not burn to disk, rather i'm forced to write to the Image recorder..
Is it possible that the old Nero version (OEM 5.5.10.12) doesn't recognize the firmware/higher write speeds in the new recorder??

Up until now, i used to create DVD folders, (VIDEO_TS), confirm playback, then burn directly to disk via Nero's "DVD Video Files"..
What are my options, without having to buy Nero sofware again??

I'm guessing that i'll have to use DVDDecrypter, or whatever other freeware burning tools that might support it...

    Thanx...

You may go to http://www.acortech.com/parts-cat_id-24-sc_id-5084.html to find Nero 6.6 which works with my NEC 3520A DL burner for just $5 and get latest update from Nero site. DVDDecrypter, DVDShrink and other ripping programs require a burning program to do the burn to disks and are not capable of burning without compatible burning software.

    So far ImgBurn looks promising...
I'll have to do some research on DualLayered burning in the future...

DVDdecrypter is all I use to burn DVDs. Decrypter is a burn option for DVDshrink.

I've also been using Decrypter for burning my ISO's, and as i type, i'm burning with IMGBurn....
My concern is getting up to snuff with Dual layer burning, and support for what i used to have with Nero Express...

Perhaps i should bite the bullet and buy Nero....

IMGBurn is updated, as opposed to DVD Decrypter. If you want to use IMGBurn with DVDShrink, look here: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=63869

Will Decrypter burn DL discs? I've never had the need to burn them yet so I've never tried. I don't even own any dual layer discs although both my burners are DL burners.

DECRYPTER is able to burn DL media. As redwuz mentioned you can use IMGBURN instead of DVD DECRYPTER because DECRYPTER is no longer updated.

    @redwudz..
    Thanks for the awesome link..

Still a few issues i need to tie together..

    a) DVDshrink Iso images can be burned via IMGBurn, and i shouldn't have any problems with layer breaks if done automatically?
    a) Should i perhaps use about %20 shrink, and avoid the pitfall of bad layerbreak?
    b) Will i need to use IMGTools if i wanna burn a VIDEO_TS file to DVD?
    c) When backing up a DL disk, will ghost (2003) know to do a layer break, or is this totally up to the hardware/firmware within the burner...
    d) What would you suggest for CD creation software? (mixing and matching different tracks from different albums)..

    THanx...
