I need to convert a bunch of old vhs tapes to dvd, and for some reason, my K-world mce-200 is not working with Sony Movie Studio. It says
Does anyone know what to do with a problem like this? I have installed the latest version of the program, and the capture card drivers. Please help! The Device 'Conexant 2388x Video Capture' could not be opened
Please make sure that it is turned on and is not being used by another application or user

Conexant 2388 is not on list of approved capture devices for sony vegas , Vegas is designed to work with DV (firewire), HDV, Blackmagic and stand alone firewire based transfer devices

You will need to capture your VHS tapes with another application and then import the captured avi into Sony Vegas Movie Studio. A few recommendations would be virtualdub or virtualvcr.
It may be possible, if you have a camcorder with the capability, to use the passthrough function. Hook your vcr to your camcorder and camcorder via firewire to your computer. -
Thanks guys, you helped out alot. I remembered that we do have a digital video camera that can do an analog pass-through. It works great with Vegas movie studio.
Thanks guys,
the mersh
