After thinking through all the options I've decided to preserve all my old home VHS videos to DV tapes. I want to retain as much quality as possible for anything I may decide to use them for while using a reasonable amount of storage space. I've got a sony digital camcorder with pass-through for the job.
What should I about the IRE black levels using this setup? The camcorder has no selection for 0 vs. 7.5. I've got a Prime Image TBC w/ proc-amp. Should I adjust the black level down using it or just record it with no adjustment for black level? I'll be using the proc-amp for chroma noise and shift, etc.
