Hello,
I need a tv pci or usb card which will let me watch digital freeview tv with ability to record to harddrive
Should a pci card have a slightly better picture than a freeview box though my lcd tv?
(atm my freeview box plugs directly though scart to lcd tv the strength signal is good it doesnt break up but colour and sharpness could be better) My lcd displays films through the computer much sharper.
And also which lets me capture from a vcr to the harddrive. ( prefabaly ignoring macrovision)
I dont mind about the quality so much on the video capture side as i understand you need a really good card and setup for that.
Low Res will do as im just backing up my Boxing videos
I've been looking for along time though all of the video capture card reviews on this site and on google. But have'nt had any luck.
The only one I have found what might be able to do this is a winfast dvt1000
But I cant find any reviews on it.
Mysetup is Shuttle XPC sn45g ( I dont know if i need a low profile tv card to fit in this?)
I do have a freeview box so my other option is to buy a standard tv card from what Ive read the old cards are best as most advoid macrovision.
But I dont know if it would be such a good setup as I think you would need some kind of splitter to get the freeview woking.
Sorry for Woffling I'm just pretty desperate to get one ( really want to record some of the world cup)
many thanks
rick
