i just bought the mini dv panasonic gs 500,
now im looking for a captured card,,,,
any suggestions,
i want to make sure i can also connect my vcr to burn onto my dvd drive also
I want to spend around $80 to $100.
I will be testing a trial of sony vegas....

If that camcorder has a DV/Firewire/1394a/ilink output, you just need a inexpensive Firewire card, not a capture card.
But if you need to input your VCR to your computer, you will need a capture card, unless your camcorder has DV passthrough, then you can use it and a Firewire card.
For video cards, depends on what you want. If you want to encode to MPEG-2 directly, look into the Hauppauge cards. Or for AVI, maybe a ATI card.
