  1. I will need to burn a PAL format DVD and have a few questions for anyone with experience with this. I will be taking some source video or animation in NTSC format and can easily get this into a PAL format (AVI I think) using Canopus ProCoder Express or it may come already encoded to PAL from the editor...in what format, I am not sure.

    So here are my questions:
    1. Do I need to take the PAL format video and get it into mpg2 pal?
    2. If so, do I then need to go from mpg2 pal to vob pal?
    3. If so, can I burn to pal using any dvd burner region coded for my region (which is currently USA) or do I need a special burner or region setting?

    Thanks for any help or suggestions that I may have left out.

    I admit I haven't tried this, but AFAIK;

    1. Yes, it needs to be encoded to PAL MPEG-2 DVD compliant video. See 'What is DVD' to the upper left for that.
    2. Yes, you need to author it to DVD format.
    3. When you burn it, it will be region free, unless you specify a region in the burning program. Nothing special is required.

    Getting it into PAL format from NTSC may not be as easy as you think, but give it a try. There are guides for that type of conversion in 'CONVERT' to the left. <<<<<<
