I do. Well I have. I bought a duracell nimh recharger and aa nimh batteries for my old rio mp3 player. It was great to just recharge two batteries a week and switch off between the two and not have to buy new batteries. However my new iriver t30 1gb mp3 player is a AAA battery user. I thought I'd have to go buy a new charger but I found out it can do AAA as well as AA!!! I love it. All I have to do know is buy a pack of AAA NIMH batteries and I'm set! I might start using my AA rechargables for my tv remotes.

    I love rechargeables.
I buy nimh batteries too, usually Accupower.
I have the AccuManager 20 charger which can charge
    all sizes, including 9 volt.

Don't stock up because they have a limited
lifespan, whether you use them or not.

I used rechargeable bateries for almost everything battery powered. My flashes, PocketPC, iPod, cameras, laptop, remotes, cellphone, and GameBoy all run on rechargeables.

For regular batteries, I use the 15 minute charger. AA and AAA both fit in so I love it.

I have rechargeable for my Wireless mouse, digital camera, and the special recharge kit for my Xbox controller.

Oh and my laptop, for all else like remotes I get the ultra cheap batteries Microcenter sometimes puts on sale.

I still use expensive Alkalines for a few things such as FRS radios since the lower voltage rechargeables don't get quite the range the non-rechargeables do. I can't recall what else I'm still using them for though. All my wireless mice, digital camera, graphing calculator, and remotes are all using rechargeable NiMH batteries. I like not having to worry about running out to get new batteries everytime something dies. I almost have enough spare cells to resupply everything that's currently using them.

Does anyone store their charged cells in the freezer to prolong the charge? I've heard that works but I've not done it myself.

You should look into this charger. I personally own one and its pretty good. They will charge Nicad, Nimh, Alkalines. Pure Energy is the name of the company. NOT made in china Cost about $25 USD. The batteries will charge indipendently, it will recognize weather they are Alkaline, Nimh or NiCad and set the chip accordingly. I like the option of the Alkalines. I have charged a few and put them in my drawer for months and they still hold the original charge. Another poster mentioned that these batteries (Nimh and NiCad) are time based. I believe this is false. I have read that rechargeable Lithium based batteries suffer from a time bomb. Aporx 5 years before they need replacing. Also Alkalines too have a expiration date. -garman

  12. Yes, for the digital camera, wireless desktop stuff, and all other thigs that really consume the batteries (babies toys).

For remotes, I just buy the big pack of energizer at Sam's, the price is quite good and I'm getting good batteries.
