Example:Christmas 2003 I got an mp3 player that takes 1 AAA battery. If I had used alkaline disposable batteries, I would have spent >$100 USD instead of the $25 USD I spent with the NI-MH.

though if you use batteries alot, recharchable batteies is the alternative than buying X number of betteries for replacement.
That's the only place where I use them. I have an adapter for my usb flash drive that lets it play mp3s, it would be a real pain to keep buying batteries for that so recharable work good in that situation. They don't last as long but it doesn't matter because I always have another pair right there ready to go. They are good in some situation and not in others.

I completely agree. For devices that need constant use of batteries, rechargables are the prefered choice.

I use normal ones for devices like clock, remote control etc. My keyboard/mouse use rechargables.

Just noticed, ive spelt "rechargables" incorrectly in my other post

Yep, remotes and stuff that you don't change very often work fine with regular ones.

Fortunately for you there is the "edit" button.

  7. True, I didn't even think of that. Hopefully no one is too aware to notice. 8)

What about those new rechargeable batteries that charge in 15 minutes?

No. Ive got a battery rack that I've always keep some in. And even if I don't have one it's still easier to walk over to Eckerd's (or now CVS/pharmacy) and get some.

Then why not keep a rack of charged batteries ready for when you need them? Charge the ones that are drained and put them up on the rack ready for the next device.

By the way, which brand of rechargable betteries do you guys use?

Ive heard some good brands do tend to last longer than cheap rechargables and are more efficient.

Or do you use the ones that were supplied with the charger.

    I use UNIROSS Ni-Cd.

rechargables are a poor choice for remotes also. look for higher aH ratings they last longer between charges. 23/2400 are better than 1800.

And you never really have to replace remote batteries that often.
