I have a number of mixed (NTSC and PAL) VCD files that I want to convert to DVD format so that I can condense them onto a single disk. The original PAL files are better quality, so I decided to keep those and convert the NTSC to PAL. I know that the DVD spec allows for MPEG1 and MPEG2 352x288(PAL) so I figured I could just reencode so that the audio was in spec, but whenever I do, DVDSP tells me that the files can not be imported because they are not in an apporpriate format. I have tried encoding as VCD and modifying audio settings, I have tried encoding as DVD-lo, I have tried demuxing and encoding, encoding then demuxing, everything I can think of and I still can not get DVDSP to accept them.
Does anyone have any idea how to get these files into a format that DVDSP will not balk at, preferrable MPEG1/2 35sx288 PAL?
