    i built a motion menu in MOTION-PAL
    720x576
bit depth-8 bit (is 16 or 32 bit better for motion graphics?)?)
    Pix Asp Ratio-Square
    Field-Lower first(even)
    Frame rate 25
    -Output-QT/Animation

Import to DVDSP-use as menu-16:9-looks distorted
its all down to me never getting to grips with comp vs tv display
i'm well aware i screwed up,never taken the time to grasp the square/rectangle pix
looked all over for clear instructions on how to get it right but no joy,

want to rebuild motion menu for use in DVDSP that looks like it should.
please advise on Motion and DVDSP settings to achieve nice looking 16:9 motion menu
also,is it possible to use 4:3 and 16:9 m2v's on the same authored dvd?
its for a showreel, some older clips in 4:3/newer ones in 16:9
    if not,is there a workaround?
thanks for taking the time to read this, appreciate any help,
please let me know if any more info needed
ps.while im here-best settings for encoding dv for use on iweb site?

Maybe start with a 1024x576 (=16:9) canvas, then let the DVDSP software handle the pixel aspect ratio and resizing to 720x576.
It is possible to have both 16:9 and 4:3 content on DVD, as showcased by many commercial DVDs extras. They'd have to be in different title sets, tho'.
For video on the web, it depends on your target audience. If they are video savvy or QuickTime users or VLC users, they'll appreciate H.264 .mp4 for its quality. Or you could upload it to YouTube, let them convert it to low quality FLV and embed that into your site.

Yes; I suppose you can set the size or at least the proportion of the working area of your project?

Think of it as 'video track'. Each title has its own properties (e.g. aspect ratio), but the properties of other titles on the same disc may be somewhat different.
