I've been using a Sony RDR-HX900 for a little over a year along with my Comcast digital cable. No problems. A couple of months ago Comcast added 3 or 4 new Encore movie channels...Retro, and some others whose names escape me.
The problem is, they don't show up in the TV Guide listings on my Sony. I've reselected the proper channel lineup for my area number of times, but the new movie channels never appear. I've gone through the add/remove displayed channels and they're nowhere to be found. I've tried manually adding the channel numbers but that doesn't work either. No listing is available. I can record from those channels by manually entering the times and channel numbers into the scheduler, but that's pretty tedious having to go to another source to get a show listing.
Any ideas why they won't show up in the TV Guide listings?

Call or write TV Guide and inform them of the error for your local selection. I do this all the time with TitanTV and Zap2It as things change locally. It may take days to months for changes to show up.
If your cable box guide is off, you can pound on Comcast.
