I have been using FFmpegX for over a year and have had this problem frequently. I use ffmpeg to encode setting are for DVD, audio normalized and deinterlace. This produces the video-ts folder, .mpg, .mpv and .ac3 files. The .ac3 file is worthless and the video -ts plays fine but no audio. Usally I extract the audio from the ,avi and mux it with the .mpv file and that has worked until now. This .avi file has the following description..msmpeg4 yuv420p 640x480...mp3 48000hz, stereo, 112 kb/s
the end result is the same as above but when I go to mux the extracted .ac3 file it fails saying it cannot open the .mpv or the .mpg. I tried unlocking it and same result. Another problem I have with this new version is I cannot use the .avi doctor to fix the file. I have a G3 mac and it does not have altivec. The older version did not require this. Any suggestions?

  2. For the audio problem, try to disable "Normalize audio", for the G3 you should use G3 binaries at http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mplayerosx/ffmpegXbinaries230105_G3.zip?download

Okay that did the trick, Thank you Major!!!!!
Was the problem because of the MP3 format? Most of the avi's have mp2
and they seem to be okay with the muxing. However, I did notice that there
was a block that was corrupted on the avi while encoding. Perhaps it was joined
and it left a lead in or something like that...I'm a novice so I am only guessing.

    Thanks again,
    Glynn
