  1. Hello all,

I've been experimenting with some authoring programs, some of which are supposedly the best.

But I can't find the right one for my personal needs.

I'm looking for a quality DVD authoring program that can convert XviD & DivX into mpeg2 compliant DVD's, WITH swithable subtitles.

Most quality DVD authoring programs can create swithable subtitles, but they won't convert Mpeg4 files

(If HD support is present that would be wonderful but not necessary)

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

quality dvd authoring programs doesn't convert at all.

use a separate encoder for converting.

  4. No way, really?

    Damn!

On Nero's website they say that in future versions they will add subtitle support for NeroVision.

But for now I guess I'll just convert the Mpeg4 to Mpeg2 and then use one of those famous DVD authoring programs.

XviD to mpeg2 with TMPGEnc Plus and then use dvd authoring program?

Is there a better program for the first step, time is no problem, quality is most important.

Tanks for quick reply Abond & Baldrick, appreciate it.

We have plenty of guides that cover conversion, and plenty of guides that cover authoring.

The only thing that comes to mind is Avi2DVD, i have worked with it on (Xvid, and Divx) Avi's with SRT format subtitles, it works like a dream for me, but it doesn't author DVD's it just converts them into DVD format

I said I'll be done in a minute. I meant a Microsoft minute.
