  1. I'd be interested in knowing how people here get publicity for videos they've produced and made available. Obviously, announce it somewhere - but where?

We do have our own site, and I'm familiar with the Archive (that hosts all our stuff), with Google Video (who have copies of it all) and a couple of video-related forums such as this one, and FileSoup has a section for free (legal) videos as well. Then, of course, there are RSS feeds you can submit to every other RSS site.

However, I suspect that isn't the bulk of it. Where can one announce the availability of new media of interest without being a spammer or off topic? I wouldn't really like to sign up to video-related forums just for the sake of that one post and the follow-ups without participating in the community, that wouldn't be polite - unless they have a particular section just for that.

    Helps, links?

There must be 1000 new free video hosting sites that have popped up in the last 18 months all over the place. The best I've been able to do is make a search-engine friendly page with major keywords so searchers can at least find my site. So far, I've been successful with one day receiving 534mb of downloading small clips. Other than this, I don't know and would be interested, too..

  3. Not terribly fascinated by the million small video hosting sites that allow you to upload up to 100 MB or whatever. There's no certainty over how long they'll be around, and I find it questionable whether the effort is worth the gain of the two or three viewers uploading to them might produce. I'm more interested in places for announcing releases...

Newsgroups, anyone? Any clues where announcements like this are welcome?
