  1. Hey everyone..
I'm trying to burn movies/videos in a VCD format to play on my DVD player. Bare with me because I'm a newbie at this. I'm using Nero 5.5 and have burnt several VCDs. But when I load them in my DVD player (Toshiba SD-1200), it says loading for a good minute or so then says Disc Error. My DVD player does support VCDs but it does not support CD-R(W). Does the DVD player need to support CD-R(W) in order to play the VCD I created? I figured since it will play a VCD I would be good to go.
I guess I could be burning it wrong and I did find a helpful tutorial for Nero on this site and I will try it.
    Thanks

You need to ensure that you player will support the type of disc you r burning first. IE (VCD or SVCD)

Then if it wants CD-RW or CD-R, some players even are picky about the BRAND of CD-R(W) you use. I'd say check the DVD player list, but its apparently offline at the moment.

The first thing I did was to DL the samples of VCD and SVCD to test the formats. Luckily, my DVD player is a beastm and will read almost anything I stick in it.

Seems the list _IS_ working. Also seems you player does not like CD-R's, and is PICKY about the CD-RW brand you use. And only works for VCD format. and no others....

    Hope this help you!
