  1. the other day my computer gave me the blue skreen after it rebooted it self.i thought i would try to use the windows xp disc and see if i could fix the problem.finally after getting it to boot from the disc it stalled at a certain point. It was looking for asm files and did not want to move beyond that point without them.well finally the devices loaded and windows was installing when a system restore screen came up.it told me to restore my computer to an earlier time.the thing is i cant do that because the mouse is frozen right in the middle of the screeni even tried to put it into safe mode and no luck,it says computer cant go into safe modei am running a dell pentium 4 computer AND need help

  2. Is the disc scratched or dirty? It sounds like during the install, it could not copy the files it needed.
Believing yourself to be secure only takes one cracker to dispel your belief.

  7. If it stucks at different places at different time, then you have a CPU or MOBO or memory problems.

You have that choice during the procedure when you do a fresh install of win2k or winxp.

I've had XP installs that required a bios wipe to finish - with a clean disc.

Hopefully, you can get it by formatting the hard drive.

If not, reset the bios, then format the hard drive and go for it.
