  1. Hi, i'm suing Virtual Dub to compress file, i compress both Video and Audio, the problem is that when i hit Save avi as, and enter the name, it said:No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format (source format tag: 2000)

    The audio is AC3. If you haven't changed the audio or editied the video, keep audio in Direct Stream Copy mode and see if that fixes things.

    If you want to convert the AC3 audio to something else, you need to install AC3 ACM Decompressor first.

    When you install it, VD will be able to use it. Just follow the instructions.
    It will allow VD to read the audio, then you can convert it to what you want. But I would leave it in AC3.
