  2. Check http://www.virtualdub.com for features. It is mainly used for editing AVI, but supposedly you can open MPEG1 files. No encoding features. Try TMPGEnc or LSX.

  3. uhmm.. you dont want to do it that way...

    use tmpgenc.. if you want you want you can frameserve from virtualdub (there are good reasons to do this.. virtual dubs resizer is better than tmpgencs, also frameserving solves most sync problems, and you can use virtual dubs filters, there are other good reasons as well). click the CONVERT link to the left and then the frameserve tab

    i vaguely(sp) recall reading a way to do it with a certain codec.. maybe.. i might just have had my head in the glue bag too long. anyways.. there are too many good encoders out there to bother doing so hack job. use cce if you have a modern cpu or tmpgenc
