Haven't tried to import a transport stream, so not sure. Would probably try a newer version of virtualdub for that.

As for encoding - encoding to what ? Virtualdub doesn't encode to mpeg-2, so you would have to frameserver to your mpeg-2 encoder.

Try Divx Author 1.5 .... works great with MCE 2005 DVR-MS videos

  6. Vdub can't read transport stream correctly. You need to convert it to program stream to make it work with vdub or use avisynth

  8. Install AviSynth and DgMpgDec. Build an index file with DgIndex. Use the MPG2Source Avisynth template at the bottom of VirtualDubMod's Open Video File dialog and select the D2V file created with DgIndex.

I remux TS files to plain mpeg2 myself. Then, I can import them to virtualdub with the mpeg2 plugin.

But, avidemux can do that easier. Did you tried it? It even has some automatic solutions for converting to h264 or divx/xvid.
