    Hi my brother in law just got himself a big ole HDtv and it has a firewire port. I was wondering if I could hook my laptop to it and what things I could accomplish by doing so. The book for the tv is quite vague.

    I would assume that it's for hooking up a DV Camera.


    I don't think you could use your laptop in any capacity just by using the firewire port.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    The book for the tv does mention that a pc can be connected but that it may not be sensed by the tv. When I do hook up the laptop, windows finds the tv.
