  1. Help! I'm trying to find a way to import chapters on the second VCD disc a movie... Let me step back - I've successfully used Sefy's guide (thanks for sharing your guide, Sefy!) to copy DVD's using smartripper, frame serve w/DVD2AVI, encode w/TMPGENC, chapters w/ ChapterXTractor, and author and burn w/ VCDEASY.

My problems is that at the encoding stage I split a movie into 2 so that they will fit on a CD-R, and when I get to authoring & burning with VCDEASY, I can only import chapters for disc 1. This makes sense, since disc 2 starts the clock over, yet the chapters are still assuming the whole movie is on one disc.

So my question is, does anyone know of a way to be able to import the chapters at the right places for disc 2 so that they'll end up at the right place?

  2. You will probably have to manually calculate an offset.

For example, chapters 1-12 is on disc one and 13-24 is on disc two. Disc one should be easy to create if you have the chapter times from ChapterXtractor.

Now, since disc two starts on chapter 13, whatever the time reference was for 13 (e.g., 3000 seconds) now becomes 0 seconds. If chapter 14 started on 3200 s, it now starts on 200 s and so on.

  3. No, you won't need to manually recalculate anything, follow in the guide on VCDEasy and you will notice i've also covered that part, on how to import the chapters for the second part in the movie.

Simply select the starting time of the second part from after the last time of the first part, and of course the ending part of the movie.

  4. Sefy,

thanks for the info! If I'm understanding you right, on the import chapters pop-up, in the "start offset" I need to enter the time of the beginning of disk 2. Then it will re-calc the chapter times for disk 2. I will go try this right now. Thanks!
