I like externals but don't like the 4.5" enclosure prices. Sooo I bought the cheapest 3.5" enclosure TigerDirect had along with a LG 4167 (last of the old line before the new Litescribe ones come out).

The 3.5" enclosures are designed for hard drives but will work fine with any IDE device. They are about half the price of a 5.25" enclosure.

The enclosure I bought is very basic. Shown in first image. I removed both the front and rear endplates and disconnected the power switch assembly from the front plate. I used the metal "rails" as stabilizers and held the whole thing together with electrical tape. I mounted the switch in a convenient location. I but some tape over that blue LED that's WAY too bright. You will have to experiment, since you will likely be using a different 3.5" enclosure.

Ugli, but it works! It's also my first setup to give me 8X writes. Yipeeee!
